Stuart Clayton

Stuart Clayton
DLGA Certified Instructor / Former Asian Senior Director of Instruction

Stuart turned professional in 1995, following the PGA training program. In November 1998, he successfully graduated as a full member of the PGA and embarked on his career with DLGA in March 1999. Stuart was not unfamiliar to David’s teaching philosophy as he took lessons with DLGA Director David Whelan as an amateur player. Stuart’s passion and dedication saw him quickly complete his DLGA training process and advance his way through the ranks of instructor levels to become the Director of DLGA Austria, Bad Tatzmannsdorf. He also worked extensively with GOLFHAK, Austria’s first school incorporating golf as their curriculum and was their Head Professional.

During the winter months Stuart also gained invaluable experience working in Spain. 2005, saw Stuart develop and open Korea’s first DLGA, located south of Seoul. Stuart held the Directors position there and was responsible for the development of the academy throughout Korea. Korea has been successful for Stuart particularly with some notable Korean professional players all enjoying rises in form and success.

Also in 2005 Stuart was proudly elected as a Senior Director of Instruction, he was one of only three instructors and is also fluent in German, and speaks some Korean & Spanish.

Returning back to the North East in 2006 Stuart is now enjoying his position at DLGA Wynyard under the guidance of academy director Andrew Nicholson.
